Cape Seed Loaf a wholegrain marvel

Posted by Orry at September 8, 2010 in Real bread

Our bakeries often field questions on what the benefits of wholegrains are and ask why would they purchase a wholegrain product over a white or wholemeal option?

This is a very good question and one that is sometimes not easy to explain.

Go Grains has come up with a simple, easy to read fact sheet that will shed some light on an issue that can be hard to get your head around- let alone your mouth!

There is no doubt that wholegrain foods are beneficial to your everyday health.

Once we learnt the benefits of wholegrains, our Product Development team put their heads together to come up with the best product possible:

The result, was our Cape Seed Loaf.

A tasty Cape Seed treat

This loaf, contains- soy and linseeds, poppy seeds, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, rye, barley, oats and mung beans – wow!

This bread is a ‘caped crusader’:

  • Made from 100% wholegrain flour
  • Low GI (48)
  • High in protein
  • Source of omega-3 ALA
  • Rich in antioxidants
  • Good Source of Iron / Niacin / Zinc /
  • Magnesium / Vitamin E / Calcium
  • It’s also 40% higher in protein than regular wholemeal bread, and,
  • 25% higher in fibre than regular wholemeal bread.

As you can see, it’s a pretty special loaf.

We recently helped exclusive food run a competition for bloggers to tell us some of their favourite Cape Seed recipe ideas, the response was great – cucumber, chicken and dijonnaise mustard – hard to go past that!

If you are after a wholegrain hit, our Cape Seed loaf packs a punch.

What’s in your Cape Seed Creations?
