Michelle Turner escapes the daily grind

Posted by Bakers Delight at July 22, 2010 in Real people

I think we can all admit life can be a bit mundane at times. And, in 1993 Michelle Turner was no stranger to the daily grind working for a large corporate in payroll administration.

Michelle wasn’t actually looking to operate her own business but she was open to something new and exciting. And she found it. Now, 17 years and 7 franchises later, Michelle is one of our most successful franchisees (owner of Bakers Delight Wellington Village and Mountain Gate).

I’ve had a lot to do with Michelle in my five years with Bakers Delight and found her success story really inspiring.  She saw an opportunity, worked hard and changed her life.

Today, Michelle operates two franchises while managing a young family – two girls, 14 and 10.

Michelle’s secrets to success:

1. Foster and develop your staff… team is everything!

2. Consistent tried and tested processes.

3. Follow the system.

4. Community involvement.

5. Don’t be afraid to work hard.

I came across this interesting article featuring women in franchising making their mark… low and behold there was also another one of our franchisees listed: http://www.whichfranchise.net.au/index.cfm?event=getArticle&articleID=235
